Become An Educator

Educators are independent contractors registered with Wattle Tree Family Day Care to provide care and education for children in a safe and stimulating home environment.


Educators can provide Full time, Part time or Casual Care, as well as Before/After School care for school aged children.


Educators receive support from the Family Day Care Coordination Unit in the form of:


  • Regular home visits.


  • Professional Training Calendar to update knowledge e.g. Child Development and to improve practice.


  • Support groups with other Educators.

Becoming an Educator with Wattle Tree

Requirements to becoming an Educator


  • Certificate III in Children's Education and Care.


  • A police Check and Working with Children Check for all adults 18 years and over living in your home.


  • A safe home environment.


  • Public Liability Insurance.


  • Current First Aid Certificate including CPR, Asthma Management Certificate and Management of Anaphylaxis Certificate.


Wattle Tree Family Day Care Service will work with you to build your skills, provide training, support via meetings, regular visits and phone/email contact.
